How to overcome depression?
Depression has become one of a common mental disease, some of them are badly victimized by it some of them do not realize its presence in them. People in their day to day life are struggling with this mental disease. Only the depressed person know how he/she feels and what he/she feels about themselves. Depression has a huge impact in our lives, and for many it goes without an answer for many years. It is something that paralyzes the suffered ones from doing their day to day activities normally. For many people depression can be a result of something happening in your life such as death of your loved ones, loss of your job, or other things that makes us feel down.

Common symptoms of depression are:
- Anxiety about things in your life
- trouble putting your mind into what you want to do
- you feel tired, no matter how much you slept
- you feel worthless about yourself and the contributions you have made
- desire of self-harm and want to commit suicide
- problems sleeping at night, and waking up in the morning
Steps that will help you reduce/overcome your depression:
a) Stay connected with people:
When you are depressed, you want to be isolated. Sometimes even reaching out to close friends and family members can be tough. Social support is absolutely essential to recover from depression. Staying connected to people and outside world, will absolutely make difference in your mood. And if you don’t have any friends, its never too late to build new friends and improve your support network.Look support from people who make you feel safe and takes care of you. Make a face time priority with the ones you love. Taking to someone face to face about how you feel can uplift the fog of depression.

b) Do what you love doing:
Even when you don’t feel like doing anything, push yourself to do things that relaxes you, you and makes you happy. You’ll feel more upbeat and energetic if you make time for more also fun activities such as pick up a hobby or sport you like, express your creativity with something you love themost such as expressing your creativity with music, art and even writing. Make some time for yourself, go out with your friendsand enjoy. Get on a better sleep schedules. Also practice relaxation techniques, it will reduce stress, and boost the feeling of joy and well-being.

c) Eat healthy food:
What you eat has direct impact on your health and how do you feel. You need to avoid intake of foods that will adversely affect your brain, such as caffeine, alcohol, and foods with high level of preservative chemicals. Keep yourself healthy by never skipping your meal. Keep eating in the interval of three to four hours. And also keep yourself hydrated by drinking eight 8 ounces glasses of water of water per day.

d) Stop responding to negative thoughts:
As you know you can never stop thoughts that comes to your brain. But whenever negative thoughts and unnecessary thoughts come to your mind, do not respond to those thoughts, keep ignoring them even if it comes to your mind all the time and carry on with your work normally.
e) Keep moving yourself:
No matter what your situation is, keep moving yourself, get out of your bed, workout because exercise is a powerful depression fighter. Regularity in exercise can be as effective as medication for relieving depression. It also helps relapse once you’re well. To get most benefit, at least aim for 30 minutes of exercise per day. This doesn’t have to be all at once, you can start small initially and slowly improve day by day.
