How To Stop Snoring/ Get Rid Of It
Many of us are unknown about the fact that we snore while we sleep at night. And we come know about it through our partner with whom we share our bedroom. In case you are unaware, snoring happens when the air does not move freely from your nasal to your throat during your sleep. So snoring is a serious business. It can create a lot of problems among which, marriage/ relationship problem is one of the common problem with partners who snore while sleeping. To hear a partner snore while sleeping really frustrate and disturbs the other partner’s goodnight sleep. Many of us are in confusion whether or not to go to a doctor.
Here are some natural remedies to help you avoid snoring and these remedies might also help you to avoid visiting doctors and spend huge sum of money.
Sleep in a proper position:
Normally when you sleep place your head in a pillow in such a way that will ease your breathing. There are specifically designed pillows available in the market that helps you prevent snoring while you sleep by making sure that your neck muscles are not crimped. Try sleeping on your side instead of your back and slowly make a habit of sleeping on your side.
Keep your nasal passages clean:
Before going to bed rinse your nasal with clean water. Use Neti pot. Nasal decongestant, or nasal strips to breathe more easily while sleeping.
To avoid allergies, reduce dust mites and pets in your bedroom. You can also use an allergy medication.
Keep your bedroom properly ventilated:
Always keep in your mind, dry air irritates membranes in your nose and throat. Swollen nasal tissues are a big problem. However, a humidifier may help.
Change your lifestyle:
If you think that you are overweight you need to lose your weight. This will help reduce fatty acid in the back of your throat and help you to stop it. Also, you need to avoid unhealthy habits, such as smoking and drinking alcohol. Smoking and drinking irritates the membranes of your throat as well as your nose which will block the airways and will lead to causing of snoring.
Exercise, exercise and exercise:
1. Pronounce vowels (a, e,i,o,u) out loud for about four to five minutes a day.
2. Close your mouth and pursue your lips and hold it minimum for 30 seconds.
3. With your mouth open, move your jaw to the right and hold it minimum for 30 seconds. Repeat same on the left side.
4. For more fun exercise, spend some time singing any song. Singing increases muscle control in the throat and soft palate, and reduces snoring caused by lax muscles.
